Hi All,
I'm an aspirant turner who has only turned 5 pens and then tried to turn a bowl from a dried cherry glue up. I read your talk of ellsworth or irish grind and am in the dark. I would appreciate seeing a few pictures of these grinds so that I may attempt (that is the word!) to copy or at least try. Any references will be appreciated.
Thanks
Ed:confused:

Ed..... Check out this thread from Stu in Japan "Let me see your Irish Grinds on your bowl gouges" There are several good pictures of the results and how to make it.

Ed - Here are two pics that I posted a while back

This one is a fingernail grind (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=32234&d=1140315819) and works "okay.

This one is an Irish Grind (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=32235&d=1140315864) that works much better.

yeah, that Joe Fleming from the San Diego Woodturners is great. Loves to teach folks. He's also our webmaster for the club.
THanks for pointing that out Don.
