band saw belts

Getting ready to change belts on my old 14 Delta Band saw. Question do I need to take the wheels off or can you replace without taking off wheels . Mike Hedges

You mean the tires? David Marks just did a show where he did that, with the wheels in place.

Leave the wheels on. Get some help. May need 6 hands to stretch them on.

Spring clamps offer a helping hand with this task;)

You may have already tried to replace them. Get a pan of really hot water and put the tires in it first, let them soak for a few minutes. The heat will make them more pliable and stretchy. You'll only need five hands if you warm them up first. It is a two person job, but one can do it with some clamp help.
