Hi All,
A buddy of mine went to his hardwood supplier the other day and I asked him to check on the cost of 3/4"cherry plywood. He told me the price was $120 for a 4x8 sheet. I know that cabinet grade hardwood plywood is a bit pricey but, was wondering if this is a average price or good price for cherry ply? My buddy told me he has good looking hardwood and his plywood is as nice.
Thanks,
Dave

About 3 - 4 yrs ago, I bought 8 sheets at about $85 per sheet. Cherry has gone up a lot in the last few years so $120 may not be out of the normal range. Some dealers will discount if you buy 10 or more sheets.

About a year ago, I bought two sheets of plain sliced cherry for $80 a sheet. Rotatry cut was about $65 a sheet. Another supplier was selling plain sliced for $100 a sheet. I guess $120 seems kind of high to me.

Dave that was probably domestic ply, the off shore stuff is still quite good and much cheaper. Off shore companies buy cherry logs here and bring it back to us as plywood, so what else is new in this world economy.

Dave,

Try Cleveland Plywood on Harvard Ave. Last time I was there I think it was in the $70 range. Their # is 216-641-6600. they used to be open Sat. till noon and they're located real close to I-77.

Dave,

Do web search for Atlantic Plywood, they have disribution in most major cities. In Richmond Virginia they quoted me a really great price on B2 Birch, twelve bucks per sheet less than any dealer in Virginia.

Dave.

Check Homestead Hardwoods. They are out near Port Clinton. http://www.homesteadhardwoods.com/plywood.html
He shows Cherry on his site. The guy is pretty good and has a really nice place.

BTW, you by chance have a brother named Bob? I know a Bob C. from Norwalk.

Thanks,
Joe
