Didn't know walnut spalted? I didn't either. My neighbors pasture just keeps me in wood. She pointed out this walnut tree to me. There was a large limb down so I got all that I could from it. Surpised to see the spalting in the sap wood.
I like the shape of this bowl but I have very mixed feelings about the coloring. I put a coat of BLO on it and as soon as it hit the heartwood I wished I hadn't. Just darkened it way to much. I think it looke better before. But it's to late.
So be honest and tell me what you think, I am still straddling the fence on this one.
