Decided to glue up a bunch of scaps and see what I could make from the concoction. The resulting plate is 7" diameter. Includes red cedar, Oak (side and end grain), walnut, sycamore, cocobolo, mahogany, and willow.

I'm supposed to do trivets today. This pattern might be appropriate. You've made it look pleasing to the eye Curt. Nice plate!:)

Very interesting and very attractive, Curt. I have often thought about doing something similar but have never taken the time. Here is a link to a guy who has taken this scrap wood concept to the extreme:
