Well as my wife told her friend I am a happy man tonight. I went and picked up the new lathe today. Took the afternoon off and got it all cleaned up. She runs smooth with no vibration at all. It will turn 15" bowls inboard and 20" outboard. Can't wait to load it up and take it for a spin.

Chuck the lathe is a Sears Craftsman Pro. Speed is 400 to 2000. It is 1 hp. but the say 2 hp max. 24 index stops at 15 deg. It will turn I believe a 37" spindle. Thanks.

Yep you got that right Ken. She ain't buying it. I told her Andy was disappointed it was Mayo white. She said a can of Krylon will take care of that.

Thanks for all the comments. I am hoping to get it saddled up Saturday. I got the first part of my bigger donut chuck cut and trued up tonight on it. I just can't believe how smooth it is. Also the VS is already spoiling me. Guess I will glue up some wood and see about a goblet. Don't want to let the old Geezer and Horsey Hart down.;) :p
