Run out on a mini lathe

Just got a dial indicator from Lee Valley today (should have gotten one long ago) and I was wondering what acceptable run out on a mini lathe would be. After setting up the indicator and I am getting about .02's of run out.

Is there any web sites or books that list what I can expect for run out and such from my other stationary tools?

.002 or .02? Big difference there and I would think .02 to be way to much.

I'll be checking my new mini this weekend and let you know. I know that my TS arbor is .0003

As long as it's constant, it shouldn't matter unless you're trying to drill a hole on the lathe of a specific dimension.

But Andy! It make rechucking heck. It's not round anymore unless you get lucky and put in the same position. DAMHIK

I'm not a turner (yet), but I would think that .020 would be a lot of runout particularly if your turning very small diameter finials or pens. That's pretty close to 1/32".

My previous post should have been .002 I believe, this is the first time using a Dial indicator since High school and that was a while back.

Sorry about that, well at least I can feel like a fool in the company of friends, If I had asked that question from the machinist at work I would have never lived it down. :o
