New Makita 12" planer

So my SWMBO insisted I purchase a planer:eek::rolleyes: I told her I'd probably need a dust hood and she says make one. So has anybody else made a dust hood for this model?

Not even run a board through it as yet:o Still need some dust collection modification.

I bought the Makita dust hood instead of making one ........... figured the factory could do better than I could. It's a bit pricey, about $24 and the outlet size is a bit of an oddball at 3". I got some 3" hose and 3" to 4" adapter. Think you'll really like the planer.

I bought the hood too. $24 is what I paid and combined it with a couple of extra blade sets for free shipping.
