I'm thinking of attaching my Accu-miter gage to a cut off sled by routing a slot in plywood and using it that way. I'm thinking it would support the stock better and give cleaner cuts. Is this a good idea? Thanks

Tim,

I would use my Accu-miter for normal stuff like small cross cuts and beveled cuts. I would build a cross cut sled for 90 degree cuts on large or long pieces such as wide cuts on plywood.

Any cuts you make that aren't 90 deg. are going to end up cutting into the edge of your sled which sort of defeats the purpose of the sled. As long as you stick to straight cuts though I dont see a problem.
