This coming weekend I hope to have time to make a new rack for storing my bar clamps. The assortment includes mostly pipe clamps but also a few aluminum bar clamps, rectangular in shape. Storage for the pipe clamps is easy: just bore holes big enough for the pipe to slip comfortably through. The others are a bit more challenging. Hanging them on the wall is not feasible--I don't have enough wall space. The only workable solution I've come up with so far is to build the new rack with a lip protruding from the front, and store the aluminum bar clamps by tightening them in place on the lip. I'm really not sold on that idea but I can't seem to come up with anything else. I love the roll-around racks I've seen others make, but I need something that will remain stationary. I'm "racking" my brain here. Pun intended.

Bottom line: I would very much appreciate seeing pictures of how you store your bar clamps. TIA!!!

Mark here's what I did. It may not work for you as it does need wall space, but maybe you can adapt the idea...

Just 2x4's lagged to the wall, with 1" hardwood dowels for supports. I've got 50 or 60 clamps on it now, and room for more.

Mine is on a wall but could easily be adapted to a cart.

I made a super industrial clamp rack out of some scrap angle iron and 5/8" rebar. If you have a welder and access to free scrap steel, you can whip up a rack pretty simply. If I get a moment I'll post a pic.

Not a great image but I built mine with yellow birch as it's cheap here and very hard.

Mark,
My rack is kind of simple, just hung them on a 2x in a one foot deep window well. I expect I’ll adapt this hanging method to one that uses less wall space when I move into my next shop.
Maybe you’ll have some good ideas for me by then?
