Late last night, for some strange reason, I scanned the local paper online classified section and found a Craftsman RAS for sale. There was a note that the ad was an "online only" ad, so I thought just maybe the weekend garage sale crowd might have missed it. I sent and e.mail reply to the seller asking if it was still for sale, and got a reply first thing this morning. I called and a lady answered saying the saw was still for sale and gave directions. Off I went.
In her garage was this Craftsman 2.5h 10" RAS, with a HD roller stand, in very good condition. She wanted $40 for it. I also noticed a couple of other things and asked about them. There was an old Delta Homecrafter scroll saw and and older Atlas Drill Press, both missing motors. I asked price, and she said $20 each. "What about a package deal"..."Sure, how about $30 for all 3" was her reply. My wallet flew out of my pocket and I started pulling them out of the garage. She even helped me load them!
I checked on the Internet, found the recall info, and called Emerson. A new..extensive..blade guard kit, including a new handle, a new table top and a manual for both the kit and saw should be delivered in a couple of weeks!
I'm psyched out. Especially after changing my order just yesterday from a refurb 12" DW705 to a new DW703 with 3 accessories for $209. Stayed pretty much on budget and got a miter saw, a RAS, a drill press and a scroll saw....sans 2 motors. ;)

I'll post more, and better pics when I get them in the shop.
