Sorry I haven’t posted any updates but my wife and I were parents again this December with twin boys!!! Anyways, here is how far I'm getting from the previous post. I have the first floor all cleaned up ( I filled a 40 yard dumpster right up to the top. So far I’ve knocked down a 3 walls (supported again with some 6”x 7” oak beams, lets not talk about how heavy those were), new sub floor (some of the original oak tongue and groove was rotten). New 6” x 7” oak support beams, in the basement. The original walls had a white wash on them, which as you can see I took off. I’ve installed a new 200-amp panel, I still need to run most of the wiring, I’ve installed many 4’ T8 lights, w/daylight bulbs (these new lights work great, really bright and even start when its below zero). The best part is I now have a shop that is heated!!!!!!! With our outdoor wood furnace, still need to figure out how I’m going to insulate the ceiling? Still to come this summer is to take off the old siding and the chinking inside and out, and replace. Also I need to knock down the newer construction part of the house. Finally build cabinets for the inside.
Picture police that is a new X5 14” band saw in there.
I’ll try to answer any and all questions.

That is going to be a great work space! How old is the building?

WOW, how cool is that. Log walls, now if you were nothing but a neander it would be even more special! Either way, that will be a cool shop! Congrats!

Well Bruce, the barn on the property is dated 1917, the stone summer kitchen (old shop) is dated 1905. I have pictures of the barn being built with the house and summer kitchen in the back ground. I'm guessing that the house was built before the summer kitchen, but I have no proof, so I'm going with early 1900's, until I find a date inside the house.

I have 3 planes and an old hand saw, does that count?
