Well today I decided to try a box.........Well one small slip of the skew while adjusting the fit of the top.......I now have an egg holder with a lid....that's the one on the left. The 2nd I decided to make it for use in a drawer, purse etc., so...no stand.........So....here's my two offerings..both of poplar finished with Friction polish and Beal buff system.....

Ken the boxes look excellent. Them things are a lot of fun. Keep this up and I am going to have to get that big one going to keep up with you. By the way they get easier the more you do.

Knit one ... pearl two ... Oh, Hi Ken.

Nice boxes - yup, you gotta watch that skew. The worst is when you use it successfully, lift it up and away from the cut and end up waving it around only to have it ding the piece somewhere else!!! Not that I have ever done that

They look nice, did you get that elusive "pop" from the tops?? Hope your wife has a BIG desk!!:D

Nice job Ken! Looks like the one on the right could do double duty
as a box and a Top, just wrap some string around it and give it a spin.;) .

Be sure to let the lathe rest at least 1 hour per day, to cool down.

Good lookin' boxes!

Man, Ken, when you jump in you jump in with both feet. I turned a lot of coasters before I advanced to boxes... You don't mess around. Keep 'em coming. Great efforts!
