I had just a bit of the Curly Jarrah I used in making my hand plane left over. It was very pretty and such and expensive wood that I wanted to make something out of it. After cleaning up the shop and getting ready for a business trip I decided to turn a little rose goblet out of it. In the picture it is sitting next to a quarter. I did not measure the final thickness of the goblet walls but I can see light through it and that is what I used as a reference while turning it. The wife has since taken possession of it to serve as a desk decoration at her work. I really don’t know how she has any room left on her desk as she “takes possession” quite often!

Anyhow the wood is so pretty I thought I would show it.

Thanks for having a look.

That is pretty wood!

I like bell shape you gave the top of the goblet.
Now, can you tell me where you guys get the giant quarters?:D

That's a beauty and the scale of the figure matches, too...

Wonderful little turning. Great grain that matches the size of the turning. Terrific job using up scraps.

Thanks for the nice comments everyone I am very glad you liked the piece.

Dave, Hard to see in this picture but that is after all a Texas quarter!

That’s a nice thing to say Mike, Don’t know if I deserve it but I appreciate it!
