Performax - Old vs new

Does anyone know how the older Performax sanders compare to the newer versions?

Since "older" and "newer" are relative terms, can you be a little more specific?

I've had mine (16-32) for approximately 5 or 6 years and a friend has one that is quite a bit older then that. I'm pretty sure I can speak for him in stating that we've both been pleased. It does what its supposed to do, albeit rather slowly.

The "older" one that I am looking at is cantelivered on a post over three legs rather than being a more compact unit that one could set on a table. Also, it is not painted white as the newer ones are.
