Has anybody used the Plywood/MDF banding bits from either MLCS or Lee Valley? Any comments would be appreciated please.

Here is the MLCS offering, #7732 or #7733
http://mlcswoodworking.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/smarthtml/pages/bt_ogee.html#edge_banding_anchor

And here is what Lee Valley has, #16J94.01
http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.aspx?c=2&cat=1,46168,46174,50698&p=50698

There is quite a difference in price as you can see!

Thanks,
Kenny

Ken,
I don't have any experience with these bits. However, I do have experience with routing and router tables that tells me that the precision demanded by these bits would be difficult to achieve on a router table. It seems to be an idea better suited for a cast iron shaper and power feeder. Perhaps somebody else will come along with more direct knowledge.
cheers, Jeff :)

Ken,
Another company that makes them is Burgess--if you search for that name you'll see several threads that talk about these bits, including pros/cons from people who've used them, as well as other edge banding techniques.

Kelly Hanna did a write up on the burgess bits.
Ply banded doors. He wasn't happy with the outcome.

Big question: how do they handle corners, as when you need to edge-band four sides of a piece of sheetgoods?

I believe that you would miter the ends... further complicating the installation
