Finishing Douglas Fir Floor

I'm finishing a floor of Douglas Fir and would appreciate some input, I was thinking of using a sanding sealer followed by a slightly tinted stain and a top coat that will stand up to traffic, but not so hard it would chip if something was dropped on it.

Any suggestions or alternate methods?
