In this infamous aquarium stand, I'm now planning to have the doors as flush mounted solid doors, as opposed to panel doors, for a cleaner look. I'm building this out of vertical grain fir, and will be using 1/2" stock for the doors. The doors will be about 14 1/4" wide if allowing an even 1/8" gap all around.
Am I asking for trouble here? Will a 14" wide x 20" high door be asking for trouble as far as expansion across the grain, or cupping? The doors will be composed of two 7" wide pieces glued up as a panel.
