Well actually it's my second bowl but the first one from a solid piece turned out to be more of a funnel (id hole in bottom). Anyway it's mostly maple with a few pieces of cherry thrown in there.

The more I look at the form the more it looks like an upsidedown safari hat!!! Have to work on that.

Be kind I'm new to this round stuff the majority of what I've done is flat.

Very nice 1st or 2nd bowl Greg. I like the form and the finish looks great as well. I'll be the first to ask for the size though. Great job, keep it up:) :)

Keith,
It's probably 4.5" high and 8" in diameter at the rim.

I forgot to mention that the finish is just buffed and waxed.

Very nice Greg. Helmet look-a-like or not, it has a great deal of appeal. I really admire this segmented stuff...not just because I'm too inept to do it....but more because it takes the natural beauty of various woods and grains and shows them off. Kinda like an eye-candy smorgasbord. Nice piece!!:)

Without a doubt, one of the finest unintentional upsidedown segmented safari hats I've ever seen.

Very good job! For some reason it reminds me of the keystone Cops :) .

Greg, nice job, whether you want to call it a bowl or u/d safari hat! :D Either one works to make for a nice piece. :)
