Finished this HF today. It is Kingwood and contains 147 pieces. Measures 4-3/4 " diameter x 7" tall. The base is Wenge. This started out as a 3/4" thick board 8" wide x 34" long. Sorry I didn't take any "in process" pics but either I'm too lazy or I forgot, can't remember which. Thanks for lookin'.

Keith, wonderful work. Your segmented work makes me want to put down my boxes and start cutting segments then I look at your segmented work and say, "Why embarrass myself?" Seriously beautiful work!!!

Keith, there is another forum out there somewhere which shall remain unmentioned that is having a turning contest where you are to turn a project from 2 board feet of wood or less. You started with about 1 2/3 board feet roughly, I did not use a calculator, so your project qualifies. You were supposed to take pictures of your starting pieces of wood and then your finished project.

Nice work!:D

Keith,

There are few things in life that have left me speechless, this one just got added to the list.

OMG.... that is a beautiful work of "ART". Superior in every way.

Keith,
As I’m sure you well know by now, I appreciate your work very much. To my taste, the form of this piece is quite graceful, but the grain of the segmentations is too busy.
What the form of this piece does suggest to me is that the use of affixed handles could enhance it.
