View Full Version : Spalted Cherry Bowl

This the bad end of a large beam of cherry that I got some time back. The beam was a 10X6 and about 10 feet long. But one end was spalted and starting to rot. I kept it anyway...just in case. The colors are pretty spectacular and there is a fair amount of figure. I took a bunch of pics so you could see how pretty this wood is. The bowl is 8.75" diameter and 5" high. Finished with clear shellac...different coats with varying amounts of DNA...then french polished...a little buffing....some spit shine. Thanks for looking!:)

John, you can't take enough pictures or provide enough views of that wonderful piece of wood and your wonderful bowl. I don't think they get much better than that. I better not hear about any ice cream going in that one. Just pretty work!!!!:D
