Well, after yesterday's big bust at an auction in the proverbial boonies, I was a bit frustrated. All that way, all that gas, all that time. And zilch to take home.
So, this morning I took a chance and looked for sales in the paper. I found an estate sale ad which mentioned "tools, saws and yard tools". I figured I might score a couple of goold ol' Disstons at best.
Here's what I came back with:
A Type 4 workmate. $14. I've been looking for another one. I love mine. And this is the best price on a fully intact workmate I've found. And I've seen quite a few.

Half can of mineral spirits and a brand new can of paste wax: 25¢ each!
(Miller's Falls number stamps came from Ebay)

TWO Norton oil stones. One combination, one fine india: $2 each!
Box of misc. files. $2.

Two socket chisels. Were also in the box above.
(English, open-handled back saw not from the estate sale.)

Set of 6 forstner bits: $5. Miller's Falls 10" brace. Excellent condition, with most of the logo sticker still present, but a bit of paint on the handle: $5.
(Lakeside 6" brace from Ebay. Stanley hatchet from a flea market. WITHERBY draw knife from a junk dealer. Paid more for that one than I care to admit. Semi crispy Stanley #118 from a flea market.)

And, now, today's big gem: What I'm fairly certain is a Stanley #80 steel cased skewed rabbet plane, with lots of blade left... $15 !! And appears to have all original wood. My guess is walnut. Nicker is missing, some surface rust, but nothing problematic. WOO! My pocket book values this baby at anywhere from $100 - $450! I'd say mine is a $250.
