Hi All,
I'm in a pretty good mood that I didn't ruin this one. It's a piece of Redwood Burl that I got from Berea Hardwoods. I really like working with this wood and like the eyes it gives off. It still needs another coat of lacquer and buffed but I got all excited. 8" high and 5" diameter. Thanks for lookin'!

Now that's pretty wood. I like the shape too - great job. Even the finish looks good in the picture.

WOW, WOW, Wow! That is cool. First you turned a nice shaped vase, second the wood is beautiful and the finish looks pefect. Is Berea's wood wet and wild or dry and sly? :)

Very nice John:) I just don't know how you find the time to turn, what with all the horse shopping you have to do:D

A beauty, John. Redwood burl is very nice to turn, although a little dusty sometimes. As you've proved, it finishes up beautifully!

Thanks everyone!!! Yep...it's a pretty fun wood to turn. Like Jim says, it's a tad dusty since it's completely dry....but that also means a single day project.:) It does have a tendency to crack if you are too aggressive with the tools though. I try to be careful.
Thanks again!
