Hi
Been following Sawmill Creek forum for several months, deceided to get my feet wet.

Started wood working 2 years ago, still consider myself as a newbie, as I am learning something new everyday.

Work with 90% barn wood. Currently working with 1851 barnwood. Just about out that wood. Figure I have about 20 major projects left, before I start looking for another source of barn wood.

Have just about all the toys I want that I bought last year from products I built and sold last summer....

New Dewalt contractor saw, with iron extension wings (my baby)
New Dewalt scroll saw
New Grizzley dust collector
Used Dewalt miter saw
New Roybie band saw
New Porter cable router & table
New Roybie floor mounted drill press

Before you say "gezz I wish I had all that"

The answer from me, is I built and remodled for 20 years with a hand saw and hammer.

Most of my old tools I gave away to my sons & son-in-laws.

Didnt work out the way I thought it would, they still come over to DADS shop.

Bob,

Good to have you aboard! Welcome. You'll have to post some pictures of your barn wood projects. Sounds interesting. Congrats on the new tools. You would have been more than welcome with just your hand saw as well, but we would have excused you to another room here at SMC :p :D

Welcome again!

Welcome Bob. I too am interested to see what sort of look barnwoood gives a piece. I hear that it is getting harder to find as urban sprawl keeps eating up the countryside.
