Can I mix shellac flakes from two different sources? Both are dewaxed blonde. I bought some from woodfinishingsupply.com, but they are no longer open for business as far as I can tell. So I ordered some from www.toolsforworkingwood.com.

So if I mix them and disolve them in alcohol, will this cause any problems?

They should work fine mixed together as long as the flakes have been kept dry. Good luck.

Thanks Chris. I figured as much, but I was told not to and I didn't really think there would be a problem. Seems I get great answers here and not always as I expect so I thought I would ask.

The only thing I could imagine is that the color may not be exactly the same mixed as each individual set of flakes. The person who said I shouldn't mix was talking about potential problems with quality, but I don't see why this would cause a problem. Mainly because I don't think either bag of flakes suffers form any kind of qulaity issues.
