Got my nerve up enough to try a NE bowl. Found a log on the wood pile with a little spalt to it, think its poplar, but works for practice. Didn't get to the 1/8th wall on this one. maybe next time.

Chris, that is a great NE Bowl. I would only hope that my first one (which I swear I'm going to do soon) turns out half that good. You may not realize it but you seem to be a Natural at this turning stuff:) :)

Pretty impressive Chris!! I'll have to find my first one. I think part of it is propping up a bench leg somewhere. I'm not sure where the rest of it is. :)

It looks real good to me. I'm waiting on my chuck, and looking for small logs at curbside salvage!
I'm looking forward to attempting one of these.

Cool Chris. :D Glad I don't see any lil red splatters like what ended up on MY 1st natural edge. Ya done good! :D

Very nice, Chris...I wish my first one was half as nice. You can reverse mount it with a jam chuck (between centers) and finish the bottom off nicely...this is the perfect type of project to learn that, too!

Chris you did real well on that one. I hope my first NE comes out that good. Great work.

Nice job, but don't worry about getting to 1/8th with natural edges. I like seeing the bark. I usually leave mine about 1/4 to 3/8th just to show it off. I think the bark may stay on better too. Just my opinion.

I tell you what, Chris. You've got this turning thing down and come a long way real fast! I still don't have the nerve to try an NE yet. Keep em coming. You're an inspiration and I look forward to seeing your turnings.
