Tod, is the crane in your hitch receiver and if so, is that something you made the accommodation for?

yup, the crane is plugged into the hitch, i just welded a piece of 2" square tubing to the frame of the shop crane. more or the poor folks with poor ways stuff:) .02 tod

I see you have pretty substantial springs to cantilever that weight so far.

Makes for an interesting idea, not just for the vehicle, but also for use on the back of the tractor... ;) Hmm....

You can buy a boom pole at Tractor Supply pretty cheap. Mounts right on the 3PH. Or just weld a hook on your backhoe bucket or FEL bucket. I did the latter which is how I hoisted the top of my jointer onto its base.

Hillbilly huh? That's a mighty fine looking lumber wagon ya' got in those pictures. The crane hitch is pretty slick also.

Looks like Dennis has a lot of unpacking to do.

Nice, but the part I don't understand is the need for the crane what with all those strong men around--after all, I saw in Dennis's interview that he used to bench press 450 lbs.

I have the hook on the bucket, but the 700 lbs of backhoe limits what I can lift with it relative to the tractor's weight capacity. Adapting a crane to the back would give great capacity, especially with a bucket full of stone or dirt up front! ;) I like the crane idea better than the boom pole as it's more versatile...it could even be used to lift a very heavy hunk of wood onto the lathe and I wouldn't want the tractor involved in that. Hmm... :cool:
