Spindle gouge sharpening question

I have 2 spindle gouges. One has a fingernail grind and one has a normal spindle gouge grind. Can I change the grind on the one to be a fingernail grind? It's a 1/4" Sorby spindle gouge. Is there a reason I may not want to do that? It doesn't look like it would be a problem howevr I just wanted to check.

Not a problem, go ahead and change it. If you don't like it....change it back.

I agree with Pat. Grind a fingernail profile and if you don't like it grind it back to a conventional grind.

I'll pile on with a "yes"...been there, done that. And although spindle work is more rare for me, I have found the fingernail grind to be easier to work with, too.
