I am building plantation shutters for my home...11 sets total. I started with the one window in my garage to work out any bugs. I got them finished over the weekend. However, the way my window is constructed doesn't leave enough room for conventional hinges.
Does anyone know if there is a specialty hinge that will allow me to attach the hinge to the inside of the window frame and extrude the plantation shutter about a half inch outside the window?
As it stands right now, it appears I will have to pull off the trim, put a 1x behind it and re-attach it so that I will have enough room to attach the shutter and give it enough clearance for the louvers to operate.
Any insight is appreciated.
