Very nice John!! You obviously took time to make nice strong drawer joints. A box we would all be happy to own!

Cheers,

Whoa!! Very well done John. Very nice. I really like the box joints. Simple and very eye catching.
I don't know if it is a machinists tool box or a jewlery box, but it doesn't really matter. It could be anything you want it to be.

Excellent job, John. Those alleged mistakes are very well hidden, if they indeed exist. Any more details? Wood? Finish?

Thanks for the ackalades all. It was a work of love. I've had the wood for thirty years(old Mahogany textile inspection table) and it is my first large attempt at padding shellac. So far I'm pleased. We'll see what she looks like on her first aniversary:eek: .

John,
I agree with some others here...it is definitely too nice to store tools in it. I'd be worried about putting dings in that beautiful finish!

It looks super!!!

Thanks again everyone.
_Kieth, I'm unsure if thats what you meant about key words.
_Frank, the whole idea behind this box is to purchase tools to suit the box. I'm in need of some new chisels and some specialty planes. I'll post when its full. I'm still flocking and making tool holders.
_Kelly, it won't be leaving my property without a fight.
_Dick, Believe it or not I.m actually looking forward to "dinging it" so I can relax around it. The finish was more of a test than anything else. I now know I can pad larger pieces without too much pain:confused: .
Oh and some day when I've the guts, I'll list and show those mistakes.
Back ta flocking:D .

John W,
Did you follow a plan? If so, what. I'm in the process of thinking one through, and I need to know about one joint.

This is one beautiful chest and great workmanship!

Thanks for posting.

John,

What a handsome piece of work. Very nice. I have always wondered why it is traditional to put a mirror inside the top of wooden tool boxes...
