Dennis Peacock and I had an Itty Bitty conversation and thought it would be fun to have a little Just For Fun Bonker contest. Nuthin' fancy...no judges....just fun.

Thought to keep it simple....no finish....take less than 4 hours.

I have an idea for an Erie Lackawanna Bonker....I'll do it tomorrow!!:)

I'm Bonkers about Bonkers......

Ken Fitzgerald started all this by introducing us all to "Bonkers".

Let this be FUN!!!!

No judging except by all those that enter the Bonkers about Bonkers contest.

Must be turned in 4 hours or less.

No finish to be applied, all natural wood, no stain, paint or such.

Sanding is allowed through 320 grit and no more.

Tool marks are allowed. :D

Let's just see how "fun" this can be.

Let be CREATIVE about our Bonkers. Everybody enter the:
Bonkers about Bonkers Contest.

Very informal and all entries need to be submitted by 10PM Central time on the 19th of March.

Awwwwwwwwww.....come on Gary......This is all about FUN. We want EVERYONE that has a lathe turn a bonker of some type and post the pic of your bonker all turned and sanded.

Find you an old tree limb somewhere and trn us a bonker!!!! ;) :D

I'll have to submit an entry or 2. I have a commision to make some bonkers of various weights from osage orange. These special bonkers are used by a friend of mine to break chunks of flint and chert down into knappable sizes. I made a bonker just foolin around and this knapper friend saw it and tried to talk me out of it. I turned him a nice sized bonker and now he wants some of various sizes so he can choose the right one for the particular rock he wants to bonk. He also commented that the one I had might be particularly useful for keeping in his mail bag. He says there's nothing like a bonker for tameing berligerant fido's that try to get a chunk of mailman flesh.:D
