I know there are several Creekers interested in aviation. Thought you might enjoy this time-lapse video of the A380 assembly process. These guys have a BIG shop. Love it or hate it, the A380 is a ground-breaking piece of equipment.

Nice link, Vaughn,

Did you see where the wings failed their ultimate load test by 3%? I don't touch the rudder in the A-300/310, you never know when it's going to snap off. You can leave the rudder alone, unless you lose an engine, but it's kind of hard not to use the wings. It will be interesting to see how they fix that.

We are supposed to get 10, starting in 2008. Not sure if I will get a chance to fly one, due to seniority issues. Not sure if I want to, due to long, long flights and limited layover cities. I'll at least try to get a ride on one, just to get the t-shirt.

Thanks, Vaughn. Very cool.

Gotta love it with all the high tech fancy schmancy computerized stuff that it still takes a bunch guys reefing on a crow bar to make it fit.

If you are talking about the part with the long bars around the engines, then you are mistaken, they are torquing up the engine bolts, nice 3 or 4 foot long torque wrenches

Cheers!

I believe that may have been a very big torque wrench.
