This is my 5th try at a bowl. Though it is only 3 1/4' x 1 7/8", I learned more on this bowl than on all previous bowls. Somehow I found a niche with my bowl gouge and it started cutting like it should. What a difference! I think I understand a little more about bevel rubbing now. Once this happened, I started enjoying it much more and it didn't take near as long. Also, I finally got a more thin wall than before. Looking forward to trying what I learned on a bigger bowl. Anyway, still trying to learn, mostly from trial and error and a couple of books.

"Trial and Error"???? Hey, that's the same turning school I went to!!!:D (Yeah, and I flunked it, too!!! ) You're coming right along there, Chris! Just keep at it...I think that's the "secret" to it. You start to get more and more of "the feel" and things just work nicer. I know I used to do a whole lot better when I had more time and was physically more able to turn on a regular basis! You're gettin' there! :)

Chris, that is a nice piece. Congrats on your progress. I guess that is something I yet have to look forward to since bowl #1 has not been turned!
