Last summer Joe Tonich gave me half of a large cherry log that had a small burl on the side of it. Last year I cored it and turned the small burl and finished up 2 of the 3 cored bowls but never got around to the second largest bowl because I was trying to figure out how to save the blank since the coring made it Very thin:eek:
I finally glued a thick cherry glue block onto the bottom to cover the thin spot and that is what was in the last picture of the "Been Busy" post. Since CRS has been around awhile I forgot that bowl was part of this set until last night talking with Joe the light bulb went on.:o
So here are the 4 bowls I got out of the one half log. The little burl was a bit punky so I took out all of the soft stuff and in one spot tried out the burner.
The bowls range from 13-1/2" x 3-1/2" for the big one and 4" x 2-1/2" for the little burl. Thank you Joe for a great piece of wood.
Thanks for looking.
