Also while in the tool stores today, I saw the new PM cabinet saw AND the PM66 which they are still selling. The new saw is $250 less that the PM66. It had some interesting features, but the fit and finish was not the same as the old PM. No more polished cast iron tops, the action on the trunnion was not as smooth. they had they side by side, so comparison was easy. I did not see what the country of origin was on the new one, but I'll bet it was not USA.

What was the Model #? Was it the new PM 2000, or something else?

It was the PM2000, $250 less than a PM66.

Did it have that built-in mobile base? i just bought a Grizz G4090 8" jointer with a built-in mobile base, and it is one of the coolest features I've ever used.

It's not built in the US. I think it's Taiwan, but haven't seen anything official, so it might be China.

Our local Wood Craft had one in the back unassembled that I go to look at.

Different things:
Riving knife splitter, easy on/easy off.
Built in casters
Nice looking bevel fascia or bezel for lack of the correct word.
Better dust collection via motor cover and dust chutes, even around the arbor.
Top is bolted on with 4 or more bolts, so it’s not 3 point like the 66
Top isn’t polished, doesn’t seem as thick (not positive)
Cosmetically it looks good.
I don’t think the trunions are as heavy and a bit different design.
Motor is not a Baldor form what I can see.

Time will tell how this saw holds up to the PM66, but the 66 is still the flagship.
