I'm interested in trying my hand at making a bandsaw box. The plan I have recommends an eighth inch blade. My bandsaw has bearing guides, and I've heard that they don't work well with such a small blade. Can the bearing guides be made to work with this blade, or do I need to change to some other type of guide. If I need to change guides, is there some fairly inexpensive change, so that I can go back to my original guides when needed? Thanks in advance.

Ditto the link

BTW, you only need to do this on the upper or lower guide.

I use bearings on the upper guide and jatoba kerfed wood about 5" long on the bottom adn I can run 1/8" blades and 1/16" blades on my 20" bandsaw with great results.

I love it! I bought the cool blocks when I got the mini max, but I have never used them because I would have to change and re-adjust the whole guide. This looks easier and obviously cheaper too.

Cool blocks to bury the blade or if compatible with your saw, the Carter guide specifically developed for scrolling with these narrow blades is a good choice.
