This is more bowl practice on a piece of spalted oak which was too far gone. Did what I could. Took it down to 3/8" and didn't feel like it would last with any further reduction in thickness.

Chris,

Nice bowl and beautiful wood. This would be a good candidate to try the epoxy manhatten with. Mix up some epoxy and thin with DNA then saturate the bowl and let it cure. It will harden it up real nice and let you turn it as thin as you want.

Nice work Chris. For a bowl that size the 3/8 walls seem to work just fine.

I couldn't help but notice what a nice form you acheived Chris. The shape is exceptional. Maybe you should try that Epoxy Manhatten as Curtis is suggesting....might be worth it.;)
