These are a couple of pieces I finshed today, the Myrtle is 11-3/4" by 1-3/8" with a wall thickness of 3/16". The Tulip Poplar is 10-1/8" by 2-5/8" with a wall thickness of 3/16. For some reason everything I do seems to have a wall thickness of 3/16". Both were finished with Tung oil than buffed out with the Beale buffs. I also roughed out 8 bowls today, boiled 6 and got 2 soaking in dna. They are English Walnut, Black Willow, and Honey locust.

Geeez, those are pretty. What caused the black in the tulip poplar? Both are fantastic.

From what I've been told it's caused by mineral staining.
