I got a few hours in the shop this week:D
This natural edge bowl measures 5" high X 10 1/2" wide.
Finish is wipe on gel poly.
Ash is a nice wood to turn, it sands and finishes nicely.
Did a little embellishment on the bottom of this one with the texturing tool.

That is smooth Jim. Really nice job and I like what you did with the chatter tool on the bottom... at least that's what I think you used.

Looks great Jim------I have not turned any ash yet but after seeing your bowl I may have to rethink this.
I really like the extra effort on the bottom.

Another excellent work of art Jim. That has some nice thick bark too. Makes it even better. Did you turn that from some fairly green wood or dry stuff? I always have a hard time getting all the bark to stick around if the wood gets too old and dry.

Ernie I used the Sorby Texturing kit on this one, It almost looks like a spur for a boot.

Curt, This was Green turned DNA soaked dried and returned.
The Bark stays on pretty good on most woods if you get them while the sap is down, In the winter months. and I used no CA on the bark.

It just proves that plain old wood can look spectacular in the hands of a craftsman. I really like it Jim.
