great work! Ive wanted to build a copy of that myself. what are the dimensions of the drawers? Is it a fixed amount smaller as you go up?

How did you join the three boards? Did you use biscuts, flush or a routed glue joint? they look very tight, fine looking work.

Nice, but I had to quickly close the pics as my wife was coming over towrads the computer, I know if she saw that she's say....

"Nice, can you build me one...?" and I'd be sunk ;)

What kind of wood is it?

Hand cut dovetails?

Very nice, I'll look forward to seeing it finished!

Cheers!

I use the Leigh Jig for all dovetails, and its cherry.

All of the joints are dovetails. The sides and top are through dovetails, and the front rails are sliding dovetails. the drawers will be half blind.

Now, that's going to be a LOT of drawers in one unit. Nice work Michael. When do you expect to be able to post "finished" pictures?

I will finish with linseed oil I believe. I will play with it when I get there.

Frank, maybe in a month! I have a fence to replace around my property at the end of the month, and thats gonna take alot of my time. Just never enough time for shop time!

Yes..the top drawers will be 2 and a quarter inches high, and the bottom will be 5 and half inches high. Getting larger as it goes down. Also I will turn my own knobs, and they will get larger as the drawers get larger.

Michael, sorry I'm a bit of a johnny-come-lately to this post but I haven't been around much lately. I'm glad to see you got the pics attatched. It looks fantastic! I can't wait to see how it turns out. How did you do the web frames for the case? Did you glue a cherry stip to the front of the secondary wood? And did you use the Leigh to do the the sliding dovetails for the web frame as well? I tired that once but never found it to work that well so I'm curious if you did it this way.

Well, you nailed it so far! Keep up the great work your doing so far. CHB would be proud I'm sure.

Any chance for a front-on pic. Do I understand correctly that each drawer divider is a sliding DT? I'm partial to DT joints and yours look great. The whole shebang looks top drawer to me.

The chest looks fantastic. But what really surprises me is your shop. Could it be any cleaner? Wow.
