*sigh* ... I keep making stupid, yet new mistakes!
(tale of woe)
A weaver-friend needs a small cedar chest to hold her cloth samples + pattern notes. So, a hanging-folder/cedar chest is under way
I ...
- googled every image of a (hope, blanket, cedar, small) chest.
- measured the hanging file holders that would go into this "chest."
- penciled up some drawing and notes.
- bought some cedar, hinges, lid stay, and some aromatic cedar for the bottom
- cut the wood this week (will be miter corners with splines)
Today ... work day!
- dry fit the carcass
- remember to check folder fit (and eyeball where I need to put the rails)
I used the INSIDE measurements when cutting the cedar!
(folders fit perfectly over the walls of the carcass)
... time to stretch the too-short boards :)
