Is anyone using one? I see laguna offers 2 models one has a minimum feed of 4 fpm and one 0+ fpm price from $900 to $2,200. My Delta I do not use on my 18" 3 hp saw the minimum feed is 10 fpm I know that will be to fast, only use it on the shaper and table saw for mouldings. I do a lot of resawing of thins in exotic woods.
The other issue is blade life. Use 1"- 1 1/2" 2 tpi carbine steel maybe 100 feet at best depends on wood type @ $25 a blade. Should bit the bullet and purchase a bi-metel or carbide tiped blade. Will the blde remain sharp 10 times longer I would think so. Cost to sharpen$40 to $60 and how many times? Any thoughts?

Thanks Dennis

My sharpening service told me that bimetal blades are not really resharpenable, as the tooth tip with the hard steel is really thin (i.e. ground off at first resharpening). I think carbide or stellite can be resharpened frequently, if done properly. tool steel blades can of course also be sharpened.
