I am looking for some guidance here. Can a powered roof vent that normally goes in your roof of course  be put in a window?

I happen to have one in box and was wondering about installing it in a garage window to help the temp in my garage during the summer months. Is that possible or even practical?

Thanks.

Those are made to vent the whole house. If you can find the specs showing the square footage it's meant to vent, and it's for a small house you might be OK. If meant for a larger house you may find it will be too much power and blow things around. The other thing is that being in a window it's not going to remove the hottest air that's up high. You'd have to have plenty of intake air vents. If you have any gas appliances in the garage such as furnace or water heater you can create problems even to sucking exhaust gasses into the garage. I'd suggest instead a turbine ventillator or two on the garage roof. Inexpensive and no cost to run.
