Well, after over 45 years the motor running the Delta Homecraft 10"Band saw died today. Maybe I'll get a better one this time, I have a Dayton motor that is practically new, It is tha same RPM and 3/4 horse. The old one was 1/3rd. Now, problem it's direction is backwards for my saw. Can it easily be reversed or do I have run it on outrigger that did work at one point in the past.. I love the saw and have lots of new blades for it so I woulld love to keep it. Thanks for your help with motor direction. Harry

Harry to answer you question ... it depends.

Some 1 Phase motors are reversable and some are no. Look inside the connection box and see if it tell you how to reverse the direction. Sometimes they will tell you there. Otherwise go to the granger web site ans look up the make and model of the motor.

I wish I could be more help.

Look under the plate. If there is a #5 and a #8 wire, reversing them will reverse the motor.
