Uh-oh, is this what I think it is?

This is an old chisel fresh from that large auction site. I was worried when I first saw the multiple bevels running every which way - it looked like someone ran amok with a grinder.

Hopefully it's clear in the picture, there's a blue line near the tip. Does the blue line mean they ruined the temper?

Just grind it past the blueing. Should be ok.
Grind, lots of coolant.

I've seen worse. First just try it out as is. See if it holds up. There is a lot to grind otherwise. Alternately - if you have to - you can re-temper the steel.
