View Full Version : Woodmaster Gang Rip Saw question

In reference to another thread I started about a table top table saw, I'm now considering building a gang saw that will have about 7 8" or smaller blades mounted on a mandrel. I'm toying with several designs. It can be pretty straight forward if I hang the blades at the end of the shaft, however, if I want to mount the blades between the bearings, it gets a little tricky.

I've got a few solutions but, my question now is: 1. Is anyone familiar with how Woodmaster mounts their blades on their gang rip attachment for their machine. 2. What size blades do they use?

Perry, you want to take a look at the accessory pages (http://www.woodmastertools.com/s/acces.cfm?CID=6&Start=11)for examples of both the blades and the mounting collar. It appears to me that the blades are made specifically for the Wood Master machine.

I have an RBI planer which can have the multiple blades. I do not have that attachment but I do know that the blades are no larger than 4" in diameter.

This link shows the blades:

The blades have a pretty thin kerf.

Good luck - progress pics please.
