This piece of walnut has a big mouth so I sanded the inside as smooth as the outside and finished it with multiple coats of spray lacquer. It is 8.5 in. wide X 6 in. high. You will see that it had 2 large cracks which I glued up and called them character. Crituques are welcomed, thanks for looking.

Your "pluralistic character" is really showing in that piece. Very nice indeed.

I'm amazed at the number of different colors it displays and I like the form Glenn. Do you care to make a guess whether the cracks will advance over time? or do you have a method of stablizing them?

Nice Glenn!

So is this place becoming a crack den, or what?:D

I don't believe these cracks will go any further down the piece. I really laid the glue to it, and it is realy dry. I will not sell this piece for at least 6 months anyway.

Glenn,

Very nice on the HF. I have yet to turn a single piece of Walnut that doesn't have cracks in it. Frustrates me to no end.....I don't know what it is, but Walnut, to me, just cracks if I even think about turning it.

Glenn, that looks like a wonderful piece of work. But over the years my eyesight has deterioated to the point where I need to be close to things to get a good look. So if you don't mind, please send it to doug webb 33 n.................Thanks for sharing a beautiful piece. Cracks are just more challenging..........doug

I sure pity you Doug losing your eyesite over there in Panama City. Did it have anything with them getting to much sun trying to look at every bikinni on the beach? Anyway I don't blame you.

Very nice Glenn. That walnut can really have multiple colors. I've never seen that in the lumber before, but noticed it in some that I harvested.
