I have Adobe Reader 7.07 installed on my laptop. Somehow, the files have been corrupted so that everytime I try to print from or exit the program, it hangs and I have to use Task Manager to terminate the program, which typically takes several minutes. I've tried removing the program and reinstalling it with a clean version downloaded from Adobe, but the problem persists. I am no expert when it comes to Registry hacks.

I'd appreciate any suggestions as to how I can cure this problem.

Thanks,

Jack

If it were me... and I too am no expert. I'm sure you'll get better answers.

Might try searching the internet to see what others have done...
If no go...
I'd backup the system
Try a couple system restores, see how far back you can go.
if no go...
Uninstall reader, make sure there are no old versions floating around
Run regedit and make sure the adobe reader folders are gone from the software sections. I'd also search for reader and delete those entries from where ever.
Reload reader and see what happens.
If still no go...
Reload from an old backup.
If still no go...
Give up and reload the system from scratch.
If still no go...
Seek help.

I had a similar problem, tried everything, no joy. Then my son suggested I use an alternative program. I went to www.foxitsoftwear.com and downloaded Foxit reader. Works well, with only an occasional glitch.
