Just wanted to put this in the archives so if any ever searches for this information. Nova does not make a spindle adaptor for the J-Line/Yates American lathe with 1 1/8" spindle. Charles at Woodchips was nice enough to send me their two 1 1/8 adaptors to try before buying the chuck. Neither would fit the threads. Obviously the threads are cut to a different standard.

I also have some concerns that if they had fit they might not have worked. The sholder on the spindle is recessed in the headstock. I suspect that the insert would have sat so deep into the head that the chuck would have hit the head before it bottomed out on the adpator. So if you want Nova Chuck you are probably looking at a coustom made adaptor.

Oneway lists an adaptor for the Yates American lathe. I am about to order one along with the chuck. Will update this once I get it in and find out if it does work with this lathe. Hope this helps someone in the future.
