A preliminary peek at the new big boy. More to follow after I get it spit shined and all tuned up. All the boys in the shop are getting a spiff up for the pending spring tour, available here soon.

It's a G5959z left tilt 12"'er replacing a Dewalt 744 portable. Karl, it's not clean enough yet, still has the cosmoline on. It's going to eat a lot of wood since I promised the LOML new kitchen cabinets by the first of the year. Now to find a real 600# gorilla to hekp get it off the pallet.

Very stout machine!! Congrats. Looking forward to your upcoming thoughts on the tool...unlike the G1023 series, the larger saws don't get as much commentary.

David,

I have that same green gorilla but tilting to the right.

I absolutely love it and think you will too.

I stepped all the way up to it from a direct drive Delta contractors saw and it really empowered me to do many things I might never have considered otherwise. :)

One of the really cool things about it is its long dado arbor--it really nice to be able to cut 5/4 dado in one pass. :D

Now that is a lot of spinning metal. Make sure that you keep your fingers out of the way ;)

Mark, Mark, Mark...

Now that's just plain... Funny!

I also got a 12" Forrest WWII 40 tooth and an Infinity dadonator to go with it. I plan to pick up something for plywood soon.
